Random House Creates Position for Former Publisher

180px-random_house_bertelsmann_svgIn the spirit of job creation, it does help to have under your belt, mega-selling superstar authors like Dan Brown and John Grisham, among others to secure your seat in publishing.

Former publisher of Doubleday, Stephen Rubin, is now executive vice president and publisher at large for Random House. Which means he gets to do whatever he wants (partially joking there). He answers directly to the CEO of the company. I missed the part about Doubleday being dismantled. Oh, well. It is kind of difficult to keep up with what imprints have gone to ground and which ones were swallowed up by another division.
