Comic Book Editor Published Books of Jokes without Permission

Don’t try this at home. 

Leno and NBC have settled with a comic book editor who published several books that used jokes from talk show host, Jay Leno among others, without their permission. The woman was apologetic stating that the comedic work of artists [snip]” takes talent, hard work and careful preparation to make people laugh.”[/snip] Obviously, what you hear on TV is protected and goes well beyond fair use if the material is used for monetary gain.
