British novelist, JK Rowling ended her Harry Potter series…or did she? In her interview with Time magazine, she hinted that there might be a 8th Potter book but Harry wouldn’t be the central character. After 7 books, the author has her moments of “weakness” after having said good-bye to her characters. Rowling’s 14 year old daughter has been adding her voice to the legion of fans clamoring for another Potter book. Alas, Rowling said that it would be 10 years down the road before she’d consider a sequel in the Potter universe. I’ve read only one book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which remains my favorite to this day, having never read the books after it (but I plan to read them). I’ve enjoyed the films with the last one, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix being the weakest film in the series for me. Rowling is an excellent writer with a authorial voice that I enjoy very much. She is currently working on a political fairy tale for young adults and an adult novel. Maybe one of those books might blossom into another successful series? Only the future and JK Rowling will tell.
