TBB and Bought Books

Well, September was a pretty thin month for me. I did get Alpha by Catherine Asaro and Diana Norman’s The Sparks Fly Upward. However, it looks as if October is the month I’m waiting for since these titles will be out then:

  • In the Flesh by Julia Spencer-Fleming
  • Echo Park by Michael Connelly
  • Angel in a Red Dress by Judith Ivory
  • Lisey’s Girl by Stephen King

Went to the bookstore and bought The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. I actually started reading that one last night. There’s a good buzz surrounding this book and it was marked 30% off pub price which prompted me to purchase it next to Kelly’s ringing endorsement of it. I also  got The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory who I’ve yet to read but from what I’ve seen on the Internet, she’s a favorite. Ebook-wise, nothing really new to scream home about. I made a couple of purchases for mystery titles by Val McDermid and Stephen White. Author’s I’ve always wanted to read.

I may be the last reader standing who hasn’t read J.R. Ward. What am I waiting for? Hmmm. I have to be in the mood to read them and names are utterly ridiculous. I did remember starting the first book in the series when it first came out and then I put it down for some reason. Mark my words: the series will get read before the year is finished. I want to know what the fuss is all about.

I really liked The Other Boleyn Girl. It was the only Philippa Gregory book that I have read and really really enjoyed.

I am so glad you are liking The Thirteenth Tale. I can’t wait for it to come out in softcover, I plan on making it my book gift for all my reading friends next year. I might buy the hardcover for my grandmother this Christmas, though.

And, I also have not read J.R. Ward. One of these days!

You haven’t read JR Ward yet? Oh, good, we stand together on that then. Thanks!

I have been asking people and a lot of people don’t think I would really like her books. Not really my genre, so I have not felt compelled to buy her.
